Jason Fife   QB   Oregon

Jason has good arm strength and a quick release. When he gets the time, he has good mechanics. He shows some leadership qualities and very good maturity in replacing Joey Harrington. He is a good teammate and at this stage of his career, shows the ingredients to be successful at the next level.

Needs to Improve

Jason needs to improve in all facets of his position. He is a good four to five years away from being a starting QB in the NFL.

Bottom Line

Jason is a late developmental QB right now. He is the type of player that you draft in the 6th or 7th round, train for another team and pick up some early 1st day draft choices. I think he shows the two main skills to be a QB in the NFL:  a) arm strength and b) mental toughness. The most important aspect of his game that I see is a burning desire to succeed and that will take him a long way.
