Brandon has excellent size and speed for his position. He has good cover skills and is a solid tackler. He does a good job going to the ball and has those nice long arms that help in pass coverage and covers a lot of ground quickly because of his long legs. Brandon has the potential to be an impact player at the next level.
Needs to Improve
He is not quick, but he has good speed and his burst to the ball is deceiving because of his long legs. He has to bulk up to tackle the TE’s at the next level and those quick change of direction backs are going to give him problems -- but all of that is nit- picking.
Talent Board Round 3 This is a kid that has a lot more to learn, but as he learns, he will help you in the red zone with those big receivers. Brandon is the type of pick that will go depending on the type of WR’s a team goes up against in their division. Now I know he plays Free Safety, but in the pro’s, his cover skills will be an asset in the red zone going one on one with those big tall receivers and pass catching TE’s. That is what attracts you to this kid, because as a junior coming out early, he still has a lot to learn. He is so much more talented than the players he plays against that he is wasting his time at college; therefore, going pro is a good thing. Right now, he takes a lot chances and toys with the opposition so all of that will have to change at the next level. He is a size/speed ratio pick with excellent potential and looks to be a pretty good kid. Workouts and the wonderlic test are big issues for him. I hope he is ready.
