Lance Mitchell   LB   Oklahoma

Before his injury, Lance was close to becoming one of the best LBís that I have seen in a long time. He has the size, strength and excellent speed. He also had the athletic ability in both the run game and the pass game. He was a complete LB and a good one. Lance is just now starting to get all of his flexibility back and is fighting through the mental aspects of his knee injury. He is close to being back- very close.

Needs to Improve

Lance must continue to fight through the mental fears of his injury. I have no doubt by the time we reach the draft, he will accomplish this.

Talent Board Round  2

I love players that fight through and come back from devastating injuries. Their character and heart are worth two players when they succeed. I have no doubt that Lance will come back. Recently I saw signs that this was happening. He still has to work on his change of direction skills and confidence for this to be complete. He is a very smart player and a leader and his teammates have a lot of respect for him. If they didnít, they would not help him the way they have. By the time the bowl games commence, Lance might be back to his old self as an impacting, playmaking LB; however, if he isnít, donít hesitate to draft this kid because sooner or later he will be. Lance has 1st round talent and should be a core player and fan favorite for the team that drafts him. If his injury affects his draft status, then some team is going to get a steal after the 1st round. If I am one of the teams that donít have a 1st round pick, this is exactly the type of player I hope drops to me.
