Kelly Jennings   CB   Miami

Kelly is quick, fast and shows excellent one-on-one cover skills for the next level.  He will be able to stay with those small, quick WRís that are starting to dominate the NFL right now.  He can help you right away in a nickel-dime package and should be able to scare the living crap out of a punter.  Kelly has that quick twitch ability that the scouts look for in a shutdown corner -- a skill you canít teach.

Needs to Improve

He has to add some bulk to his frame and learn to tackle.  If you play Kelly full time, the other team is just going to sweep around his side until his coach gets sick of watching him attempt to do something to stop it.

Talent Board Round   2

You canít be a #1 CB in the NFL if you canít tackle.  I donít care how quick your twitch is!  Kelly has the athletic talent, but at this point of his career, he doesn't have the physical toughness to compete at the next level on a down to down basis.  He might be able to help if you want to play a combination man-to-man zone defense in a nickel or dime package.  But even then, he would get bumped off his man and give up the needed yardage.  Your only hope for this very talented kid is to draft him, bulk him up and teach him the drag down tackle technique so that he wonít get injured.  If youíre a team that's up against Steve Smith or Santana Moss, then you have to draft this kid and hope for the best because he'll be able to stay with those types of WRís.  Iím just not sure he can stop them!  But, he'll look good trying!
