Donald Washington   CB   Ohio St

Donald has excellent athletic talent.  He is a head up, wrap up, squeeze and drive tackler who can play corner or safety at the next level.  He reminds me a lot of Donte Whitner (S Bills), but he has strong abilities to cover like a CB than Donte when he came out.  Donald has first round talent and if he stayed in another year and became serious about football and life in general he could have made himself a first round pick.

I guess the only way to describe Donald is to say he is a smart human being, but he can't see the forest because of all those damn trees in his way. I think he feels that he is playing out of position and I think it has affected him wanting to play for his college coach.  If I'm correct, all I can say is, sometimes a player will cut his nose off to spite his face.  Donald plays like he thinks he is a better player than he is.  The lack of football intelligence and work ethic are his biggest problems.

Personally, I think this kid is a safety waiting to happen.  I don't think he likes the CB position.  I don't think he feels he can impact at the CB position, which is why I think he has not played up to his athletic talents.  He appears to have a problem with the coach as demonstrated by his poor attitude on the field.  He has only himself to blame for this -- even if the coach is wrong, you must play a position to the best of your abilities and let the chips fall.  You have to be mature enough to know that you are not going to get your way every time and learn to deal with it like a man.  I think this kid is a Pro Bowl safety waiting to happen, but that talent might be paired up with a 7th round work ethic.  Draft him in the later rounds and give him a few years to develop; if you allow his talent and tackling ability to mature, I think he will be worth it.
