Eric Wood   OC   Louisville

STRENGTHS

Eric is one of the most underrated interior offensive linemen in the country.  He has excellent leadership skills and has the quickness out of his stance to keep his balance and stand up to the bull rush.  He does an excellent job when blocking for both the run and the pass.  He has good feet and can be used in a pulling system.  Eric finishes his blocks and shows great leadership skills.  If you need a center or an interior lineman who can play more than one position, is smart and has excellent leadership skills, then do yourself a favor.  Go ahead and treat yourself -- draft Eric.  You won't regret it.

NEEDS TO IMPROVE

Eric does not have enough lateral agility to play a tackle position, but who cares?  You really wanted a center, not a left tackle!

TALENT BOARD ROUND 1

First round talent is first round talent.  Just because we are talking about a player who plays on the interior of the offensive line does not mean he does not have the talent to impact right away!  I'm not suggesting that Eric will be drafted in the first round.  What I am saying is that no matter what round he is drafted in, he will start for you right away and impact.  Eric is smart and can play more than one interior line position.  He is a complete center who can play in any style of offensive system.  That being said, not many think like me so keep checking Rob's value board to see what round Eric might be picked in.  If your team drafts him, consider yourselves smart and lucky.  I'm calling him Eric (Coupon Man) Woods because drafting Eric in a round other than the 1st will be like buying your favorite gallon of ice cream on double coupon day at the supermarket.
