Ndamukong Suh  DT/DE  Nebraska

 Round 1

Ndamukong has excellent size and strength to play his position.  He is naturally strong and uses his hands very well when looking to penetrate the line of scrimmage and make a play.  Ndamukong has very good feet and looks to have good quickness off the ball.  He has good lateral agility that will allow him to play in any style of defensive line front as a DT or DE.  He shows leadership skills through his play on the field and makes the players around him better.  Ndamukong has the potential to be as good as Reggie White the former great defensive lineman for the Packers/Eagles because his style of play is based on size, strength and quickness.  Ndamukong is a franchise defensive lineman and the type of player you build your defense around.

He does have some faults but nothing that he can't overcome with a little work.  He plays high and will struggle for a while when defending against the run.  He has some bad habits (technique wise) but nothing that will keep him from producing and impacting as soon as he corrects them.... and I have no doubt that he will correct them.

This kid has it all.  The intelligence and athletic talent to go along with his size and natural strength to be a dominating defensive lineman. Because of his talent he can play in any style of defensive front as a DT or a DE.   In in a one gap system or a two gap system.  His strength will allow him to rush the passer as a DE in a 4/3 front and his size and quickness will allow him to rush the passer from the DT position.  One of the most impressive things I saw on tape was Ndamukong at the end of a game that Nebraska was loosing and (as the other team was just kneeling down the last few plays of the game) was Ndamukong trying to swat the ball as the center was snapping the ball.  Ndamukong just would not give up.  The smartest thing a coach can do after Ndamukong is drafted is to sit him down and show him Reggie White and teach him some of Reggie's techniques.  This will go a long way in helping Ndamukong to understand his potential.  This kid is King Kong on the football field and that's why I call him Ndamu (The Great Kong ) Suh.
