Marquis runs excellent routes and plays bigger than his size. He will make the tough catch when your offense needs it, give you the yardage you must have on a punt return or make a special teams play at the most crucial time of a game. He has good hands and is the type of player who just knows when to step up and make the right play. He is smart and has an excellent feel for the game. He looks to be an excellent teammate and shows leadership skills through his play on the field. Marquis will go over the middle and make the tough catch. He will battle for the ball in the air and plays with the attitude that when the ball is in the air, it is his ball. He shows decent speed, but is more quick than fast. Marquis is the type of player you hate if he is on the other team, but you love him big time if he is on your team. He is the type of kid that probably trash-talked all the way down the birth canal and his mother could never shut him up. If you're smart, you draft this kid because he will become a core player for your team and a fan favorite.
Marquis is not big enough or fast enough to be a starter for a 16-game schedule in the NFL at the wide receiver position. His athletic talent will make the most impact as a slot receiver/special teams player, but I would not count him out totally as a potential starting WR. He loves to play and will do anything you ask of him.
I say this all the time, it takes more than talent to play in the NFL. I believe Marquise has more than talent. He is a player who shows up for the game and uses everything he has to beat his opponent. He uses his athleticism, football intelligence and techniques to beat you, and if all that doesn't work, he will trash-talk you into losing if he has to. He is the type of player you need on your team to be successful. He is a leader, a jack of all trades type of player who can do a lot of different things very well, but not just one thing outstanding. I'm not sure Marquis will be drafted, or he could be drafted as early as the 4th round but I do know this, I want him on my team and I'm glad his mother could never shut him up. Good job Mom, this kid's a winner.
