STRENGTHS
Brian’s work outs suggest that he is a very athletic player for his size. He is quick enough out of his stance and that means he can play more than one position on your offensive line. He has quick feet to recover when he gets beat and that is an important skill and athletic talent to have. Brian has good size and he gives good effort on every play. Athleticism is what Brian brings to the team that selects him in this draft, and to have athleticism on the offensive line is a needed priority for any team.

CONCERNS
The truth is, as I watched Brian on film, I thought there was blood coming out of my eyes, but it was just tears. I’m not sure if I have ever seen an offensive lineman with worse techniques than Brian has. His athleticism, effort and mental stamina are the reasons he survives as a left tackle at the college level. Brian also has to improve his core strength and upper body strength and learn the correct techniques on how to anchor or players will continue at the next level to abuse him like they did at the college level.

BOTTOM LINE
In the Senior Bowl practices, the Edge Rushers went over Brian like he was a man hole cover on highway. He has potential, but I’m not convinced it’s at the starting tackle position but then again, some of these offensive line coaches at the NFL level have done remarkable things with less talented players and Brian deserves a chance to receive that type of coaching. He’s hard working and looks to be an excellent teammate and the fact that he was moved to the tackle position and then left to fend for his self does not say a lot for the coaching he has received up to this point in his career. I think you might have to wait for Brian after his first contract is up, to see at what level he is playing at and how well he takes to some hard coaching. I suspect that because of his athleticism that he will be the type of player who can back up at either the guard positions or tackle positions in the future and that makes Brian a potential valuable player and a player most teams will want to select and develop.
