Dylan Cantrell   WR   Texas Tech

TALENT
ROUND
2

STRENGTHS
Dylan is an acrobatic, pass catching, monster of a receiver. He has excellent hands to catch the ball with excellent eye/hand coordination. Dylan doesn’t have to get open, to be open. He uses his body to gain separation and inside the red zone this kid is a touchdown making machine. Dylan is t type o receiver that when everyone in the stadium knows he is going to get the ball, he still finds a way to catch the pass and make whatever yards are needed to move the chains. He will adjust to the ball in the air and has the biggest catch radius high and low that I have seen in a long time. You’re looking at a clone of Anquan Boldin with better speed and quickness. Dylan is committed to being the best receiver from this draft class and something tells me that given some time that he just might be.

CONCERNS
Dylan ran his 20-yard shuttle in one of the best times at the combine but because he is so big on film he doesn’t look that quick. He will have to learn to run better routes but that won’t be a problem, this kid never stops working to be the best he can be and loves to play the game.

BOTTOM LINE
I will never understand how a player like this gets overlooked all because he might not run a 4.30 in the forty. Dylan is 6’5” 226 lbs runs a 4.50 and his CPM score is 89% and he catches everything thrown to him and BLOCKS for his teammates. For an NFL team full of scouts, spending millions of dollars, to rate Dylan low in this draft is just proof of how poor some teams are in evaluating players. I mean seriously… he is one of the best at catching the ball, getting open, making yards after the catch and most important for a receiver…CATCHING THE DAM BALL. Dylan has such great mental fortitude to succeed that if he fell on the ground he would still catch the ball with his feet. His ability to adjust to the ball in the air and make an acrobatic catch is similar to the Giants Odell Beckham’s only Dylan is not as fast or quick as Odell but he is bigger and has the same inner fire that burns to be the best. When the ball is in the air Dylan is all over it. Throw it low and he goes down and gets it, throw it high and Dylan will sky high in the air like a volcanic eruption to catch the ball. Dylan has all of the talent required for the NFL but for some reason he will not be selected early in this draft so look at Rob’s board and pray your team selects him at some point in this draft.
