Keeping It Simple

·  As far as I can tell right now… Ndamukong Suh DT Nebraska has the potential to be as good as the former great Packer DT/DE Reggie White.  Terrence Cody DT Alabama has remarkable athletic talent (even with all of that weight) and reminds me of Ted Washington.  Arthur Jones DT Syracuse should be an excellent run stopping DT with some pass rushing abilities who reminds me of Richard Seymour DT Oakland Raiders and the DT’s do not stop with just these three guys.

·   As of this writing Taylor Mays Safety USC is not even close to being the best safety is this draft.  There are many who I would rate ahead of Taylor because of his lack of instincts and football intelligence and the fact that he goes for the big hit instead of wrapping up when he tackles.  The junior from Tennessee (safety Eric Berry) is much better and the safety from Notre Dame (Kyle McCarthy) has the best instincts.  Kyle might not be as fast Taylor Mays but Kyle plays faster on the field because of his instincts.  Taylor Mays is very overrated at this point.

·  The best pure QB in this draft is the kid from Kansas Todd Reesing and because of his size he might not be drafted at all.  He has excellent arm strength and is smart and shows excellent leadership skills.  He is a pleasure to watch and the team smart enough to draft him and bulk him up a little might have another Drew Brees.

·  George Selvie DL South Florida has been a big disappointment to me this year.  The lack of passion in his play is shocking.

·  The Best LT right now in this draft is Russell Okung LT Oklahoma State but Kyle Calloway RT Iowa and Mike Johnson LG Alabama will surprise a lot of people at the combine with their athletic abilities.  Charles Brown LT USC is coming on fast also.

·  Pat Angerer LB Iowa is one of the best LB’s in this draft along with the very talented Sergio Kindle Texas and the much underrated Daryl Washington LB TCU.

·  CJ Spiller RB Clemson is just a very good all around impact RB who can be used in many different ways in a team’s offense.  Toby Gerhart RB Stanford might not be as explosive but could be just as impacting.

·  You can draft all the Junior WR’s with talent you want.  I’ll take a senior with the talent, production, leadership skills, big play ability and football intelligence over just about any one else.  I’ll take Eric Decker WR Minnesota or Jordan Shipley Texas.  There will be some very talented junior WR’s once they declare but over looking Eric or Jordan will be a big mistake. A Senior WR’s LTI is much quicker than a Junior WR’s LTI in most cases.  So if you need an impact WR right away I suggest you look real hard at Eric and Jordan.

Sure looks like the best DT draft in years. Couldn’t agree more about Mays. I’m curious to see Pat Angerer now, he’s not a guy I knew about.

Decker play(ed) with the Golden Gophers of Minnesota…not Cincinnati

Would like to know who you have as the best C/G’s out of this years class. Do you feel that Buckram (RB UTEP) rushing is due to poor competition or he’s that talented? Finally, which team do you think COULD use Tebow the most? Not where he will fit, but where he could make an immediate impact. Thanks

Troy – we will all have to wait for the JR’s to come out to answer this question.

Who are your top 10 players coming out of this draft and will the RaVens draft a WR or pass rusher in the 1st round?

    Bruce,
It’s a little early for top ten at this point. Still a lot of players to declare. Ravens may need defense in the first because there are a ton of good WR’s that will be there in the 2nd and 3rd round and even 4th. Corner might be the biggest need in the 1st for the Ravens. Better corners can equal a better pass rush.
